Is there any enhanced cleaning carried out at the villa as a result of Covid-19?

Yes, your safety is important to us and we have implemented an enhanced cleaning protocol, in line with local government guidance.

Does the villa have air-conditioning?

There are AC units in all three bedrooms. There are also ceiling fans in the bedrooms and living/ dining area. And all windows and doors have louvres to allow the sea breeze to circulate, making it a cool place, even without AC for most of the year.

Is there a problem with mosquitos?

There are usually mosquitos around at dusk. They can be worse during the rainy season. All windows and doors have screens and there are plug-ins and candles available. It is recommended that you bring your own insect repellent.

How far is the villa from Montego Bay/ Kingston airports?

It is about a two-and-a-half-hour journey from Montego Bay and another 30 minutes from Kingston, but worth the journey!

Can you arrange transfers to the villa from the airport?

Yes, we can arrange for you to be picked up and dropped off from either airport. There is an extra charge for this of between USD $130-$200 each way.

How can we get around Treasure Beach?

Most people walk or cycle around the village. The villa comes with two bikes for your use. You can also rent scooters and cars locally, or hire a taxi. Please ask for details.

Is there housekeeping?

Yes, Tatty is our housekeeper and her services come with the villa. She will take care of your laundry and keep the place clean. If you require anything else, you just need to ask.

Does a cook come with the villa?

Tatty is an excellent cook and will prepare your breakfast each morning. She can also prepare your evening meal for a reasonable. The cost of this and ingredients for all meals are payable directly to her.

Can dietary requirements be catered for?

Yes, if you let us know before you arrive, we can make sure that the menu reflects your needs as far as we are able.

Can I request food supplies for our arrival?

Yes, if you would like some supplies to be purchased for you arrival, just let us know. The cost of these can be paid direct.

Is there on-site security at the villa?

Treasure Beach is very safe but for peace of mind, the villa has external security cameras and lights. Dave the caretaker also lives on site and is always alert.

Is the villa accessible for wheelchairs?

We have had a guest who was a wheelchair user. There is step-free access to the villa front and back and wide doorways internally.

Is the villa child-friendly?

Yes, children of all ages are welcome. We can provide a highchair and cot. There are no steps inside the villa. Adults must supervise children near the pool. Tatty is happy to provide nutritious pureed food. You need to provide your own stroller/ pushchair. A car seat can be provided for transfers. We can also provide a child seat for a bike.

Can I rent a car/scooter locally?

Yes, you can rent both locally. Just let us know if you want to do this in advance and we can arrange it for you.

Can I use credit/ debit cards when I am there?

You can use these in a few of the local hotels and restaurants, but generally cash is preferred. You can use US dollars but the exchange rate won’t be the best. It is better to bring some Jamaican dollars.

Can I get currency locally?

You can exchange currency or get local currency with international credit/ debit cards at the ATM at Jack Sprat restaurant in Treasure Beach. Otherwise there are banks in either Black River or Junction, which are both a 30-minute drive away.

Is there space for more than six people?

Can I rent longer term?

Yes, there are discounts available for medium or long-term lets.

Do I need vaccinations to come to Jamaica?

At this time, no vaccinations are required. There are some instances of mosquito-born dengue fever, but Zika and Chick-v are no longer a problem at the current time.

Is the pool heated?

Yes, by the sun!

Is it chlorinated?

There is minimal chlorine in the pool. Instead we have a system that uses ultraviolet light to sterilize the water. This is healthier, more efficient and less polluting.

Is there a barbecue?

Yes, there is a large barbecue at the villa. Our staff can cook for you or you are welcome to do your own!

Where can I shop for groceries locally if I want to make lunch at the villa?

Tatty will be happy to shop for you, However, there are a couple of small grocery stores within walking/cycling distance, as well as a few roadside stalls for locally grown fresh procuce. There is also a monthly farmer’s market in the Sports Park, which is a 10-minute walk away. Further afield there are supermarkets in Black River, Southfields and Junction, a 20-30 minute drive away.
